Dr. Vishal Samartha is the Professor and Director in the Department of Business Administration. She has 23 years of experience in teaching and more than 10 years of experience in Research. Her research papers are published in refereed journals and presented papers in National and International conferences. Recently, she presented a paper at the World Academic Industry Research Collaborative Organisation (WAIRCO) at Colombo. She has been a part of the faculty development programme at IIM Bangalore for the topic ‘Using Blended MOOCS in Management Education and has also attended a faculty development program at IIM Kozhikode on ‘Innovative methods in teaching’. She has been the Member of the Board of Examiners in Business Administration of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belagavi, India. She was the member of the Local Inspection Committee for affiliation, extension of affiliation, and establishment of research centres of VTU affiliated engineering colleges.

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management (SCEM). The Indian corporate sector is undergoing remarkable changes with global integration and emphasis on technology upgradation. This has forced managers to up skill and adapt themselves to the reinvented ecosystems.
B schools are geared to reorient themselves and train students on the much needed future skills. The MBA Program at SCEM is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and AICTE approved. The Industries and startup ecosystem within the Campus shall enable students to get real time experiences through a newly taken initiative called Immersive MBA. Through this programme, students are allotted to in-house companies to carry out studies related to the subjects in their semester and gain practical knowledge, as the problem statements are mapped to the semester-wise subjects.
We believe in providing the best of learner-centric infrastructure and facilities like wi-fi campus, corporate experienced teachers, short term certificate courses and Industry expert sessions who have worked in esteemed MNC’s for more than two decades. In addition to strict academics we also expose students to research projects funded by the Government, Paper Presentations, and exposure to participate in Management Fests with emphasis on events organized by premier institutes, which shall also give them an edge over other post graduates. The mentoring process adopted by the department shall enable the students to introspect themselves and also develop their area of interest and improve their Employability skills either a Job Seeker or a Job Creator.
In short although we are at the growing stage, efforts have been gigantic to drive outcome based education. The measures taken by the College Management has been enormous. We assure you that your two years of journey shall add on to your holistic development which you shall cherish.
