Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. and Sahyadri signed an MoU where Reliance shall offer course programmes to the eligible candidates and faculty members of the institute. Reliance shall provide the relevant course materials for the course work and will set up the laboratory and classrooms in the college premises. This MoU will have far reaching impact between Sahyadri and Reliance.

The Karnataka Government Research Center of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mangalore University for Collaborative Research and Development, Education and Training for the benefit of students, researchers & faculty members with a vision to reach excellence in education and research.
The MoU was signed by Prof. P. S. Yadapadithaya, Registrar, Mangalore University, Prof. C. Ranganathaiah, Director Research, Sahyadri college of Engineering & Management, and Prof. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal, in the august presence of Prof K. Byrappa, Hon. Vice-Chancellor, Mangalore University, Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman and Dr. D. L. Prabhakara, Director,Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. Collaborations under this MoU are focused on, but not limited to R&D work in projects relevant to composite materials, structural engineering (dynamics, design auditing and testing), material testing and visiting faculty or R&D assignments, M.S., M.Tech., Ph.D. programs, short-term training, and short-term courses. The MOU is intended to expedite R&D of new methods and technologies that can be implemented in support of Mangalore University and Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management to enhance technological capabilities, skilled human resources and economic growth. It is aimed at enhancing the quality of research and teaching at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and Mangalore University.
Prof. U.M Bhushi, Principal, welcomed the gathering and told that Engineering will grow only by the contribution of basic science research. Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, advised the faculty to make use of the MoU by exploiting the research facilities at Mangalore University. He also said that research achievements are the indicator of success in many well known foreign universities. Research Director Prof. C. Ranganathaiah explained the importance of MoU and told that the strength of any institute is measured by its strength of research. He has advised the staff members to take advantage of the MoU and make use of microtron and other facilities available at Mangalore University.
The Registrar of Mangalore University Prof. P. S. Yadapadithaya conveyed that, this MoU supports effective collaboration to enhance the brand equity of both the institutes. He said that it is a momentous occasion for both the institutes. Prof. K. L. Byrappa expressed that engineering and Basic Science research should go together. He also advised the faculty of both the institutes to come forward and try to explore the collaborative research work. He said that the MoU will help in applying for research grants. Dr. D.L Prabhakara delivered the presidential remarks and opined that this MoU will be active because of the constant support of research director Prof. C Ranganathaiah and Hon. Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Byrappa.
Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FKCCI), Bengaluru and Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to foster Industry-Institution relationship and to effectively complement each other’s effort in serving the cause of industries and students and to facilitate growth and development of Industries. This MoU will facilitate jointly organizing seminars / conferences, Management Development Programme (MDP),
Executive Development Programme (EDP) – long term / short term programmes for enhancing skills /competency of employees, jointly work for channelizing funds of Government / Non Government Agencies for the project on skill building, talent development, etc., jointly work to provide suitable placement for the graduates upon successful completion of the programme to the extent possible and FKCCI will extend the resources by providing practical training for the students for industrial visits, conducting various programmes, workshops as required under the curriculum to the students. The MoU was executed by Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, President, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and Mr. Sampathraman, President, FKCCI, Bengaluru.
Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management signed an MoU with National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) to develop and support the college in creating new entrepreneurs. Ms. Chaithali Sengupta, National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN), addressed HoDs and the faculty representatives of all the departments about the activities of NEN. In her presentation, she briefed the audience on the role of the institutes in molding budding entrepreneurs by encouraging and supporting their ideas. She also stressed on the importance of having a strong faculty team to guide the students. It was an interactive session after which she visited every department of the college. Individual discussions were held with Dr. U. M. Bhushi, Principal, Dr. Mohandas Bhat S., Dean (Academics), Dr. Timothy G. Lenihan, Dean (Research), Sahyadri Research Centre, Dr. A. P. Achar, Director, Department of Business Administration, HoDs, and faculty representatives. This ground-breaking development and the signing of this MoU, opens up a window of opportunities to anyone aspiring to venture into this field.
NEN was initiated in 2003 by the Wadhwani Foundation. The non-profit NEN was co-founded with IIT, Bombay, IIM, Ahmedabad, BITS-Pilani, SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, and the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, Bangalore.
An MoU with J.V. Global; a leading organization based in Bengaluru, was signed by the college. Sahyadri has associated with J.V. Global in the last few years in conducting Technical and Management Training Programs for students. With this initiative and the signing of this MoU, the Training & Placement requirements of the College will get an added boost.
A four member team from the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic visited Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. The team comprised of Prof. Miroslav Ludwig, Rector, Prof. Karel Rydl, Vice-Rector, Prof. Petr Vorel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy and Prof. Martin Farek, Head of the Department for Study of Religions. During their visit Prof. Ludwig addressed the staff and students and pointed out the significance of building collaboration between the two esteemed institutions. He also gave a comprehensive picture about University of Pardubice and its academic environment.
The team deeply acknowledged the presentations given by the respective Heads of the engineering branches.
The main objective of the visit was to establish a MoU in the areas of Research, Engineering, MBA, Arts and Culture. During the visit, the Rector, Prof. Karel Rydl from the University of Pardubice and the Management of Sahyadri Educational Institutions signed a Letter of Intent in accordance with a mutual desire to promote research and international academics in the filed of Engineering, Management Studies, Humanities and Culture. This will strengthen the bond between the two academic communities and will contribute to a greater understanding and communication between two cultures. The mutual assistance to be provided will be specifically in the areas of research, exchange of staff and students, cultural exchange and other programmes deemed beneficial to the University of Pardubice and Sahyadri Educational Institutions.

The MoU will facilitate environmental clearance services through EIA consultancy, environmental laboratory services, technical and project consultancy for STP/ETP projects on turnkey basis.

Extending the workshop on "Computational Mechanics" organised recently by the Department of Civil Engineering, the Government Research Centre, Karnataka, at Sahyadri has been keen to establish a long-term association with ISRO and its allied units to undertake lasting projects for students. ISRO is also very keen to establish a long-standing association with educational institutions through various programs such as technology development, specific design and analysis consultancy, and research support to faculty and students.
A team led by Dr. D. L. Prabhakara, Director, Sahyadri Educational Institutions and Prof. Karkera, Adjunct Faculty, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, visited GSLV Mk-III Project, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) & Structures Entity of VSSC in Trivandrum for two days. Based on the discussions during the visit, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has evolved a programme through which financial support is provided for conducting research and development activities related to Space Science, Space Technology and Space Application to academia in India. This programme of Research, sponsored by ISRO is called RESPOND. In special cases research and development projects proposed by non-academic R & D laboratories can also be supported through this programme. The aim of RESPOND is to encourage quality research in areas of relevance to the Indian space programme. This comes as a wonderful opportunity to integrate knowledge in various subjects and across all the branches of Engineering. It provides an opportunity to link one’s M.Tech. projects and Ph.D. work too.

Ghent University of Belgium, visited Sahyadri College on 26 August, 2011. The university appreciated the infrastructure and teaching- learning environment of the college. The Ghent University wants to build coherent policies and relationship in semi urban, semi-rural universities and educational institutions in India. The Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and Ghent University are looking forward for tie-up, collaboration and cultural co operation between each Other in exchange of faculty, short term students’ exchange programmes, research collaborations so on.
